Which iPhones are compatible with FloorPlan AI?

FloorPlan AI requires an iPhone with a LiDAR sensor: iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, or any Pro or Pro Max model released since (iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro, 15 Pro, 16 Pro, and equivalents). It also supports LiDAR-equipped iPad Pro models. The device must run iOS 16.0 or later.

How accurate is the LiDAR floor plan scanning?

FloorPlan AI uses Apple's RoomPlan API, which leverages the iPhone's LiDAR sensor to capture depth data across millions of points per second. Wall dimensions, door positions, and window sizes are typically accurate to within a few centimeters — suitable for furniture planning, property listings, and architectural reference.

What file formats can I export?

FloorPlan AI exports USDZ (3D model), JSON (structured room data), and ZIP archives containing raw depth maps, color frames, and camera parameters. These are compatible with professional CAD tools, 3D modeling software, and custom processing pipelines.

Do I need an internet connection to scan rooms?

Room scanning works fully offline — LiDAR and RoomPlan processing happen entirely on-device. An internet connection is only required for AI visualization (Gemini room rendering) and for uploading or sharing your scans.

Is FloorPlan AI available on Android?

No. FloorPlan AI is built on Apple's RoomPlan API and LiDAR hardware, which are exclusive to iPhone and iPad Pro. There are no plans for an Android version.

How does the AI room visualization work?

After scanning, tap once to send your floor plan to Google Gemini's multimodal vision model.
